Enamelling on Copper using the Sgraffito technique
This is an awesome and effective method of copper enamelling that I teach to my beginner students.

Its a technique used in many art forms including painting and pottery where the top layer is scratched out to reveal the base metal or layer underneath. Great for making artwork out of doodles.

In my work I relish the natural oxidation of the copper during the heating process of the enamels and work it into my design not as a flaw but as a feature. That is what forms those beautiful black lines and spots Great art that is cheap and affordable.
