This has got to be one of the most breathtaking pictures of a mermaid that I have ever seen. :)
It's one of those pictures that appears to be moving even when standing still. :)

Thank you  took me a few days to get her the way I imagined her  yeah she is powerful isnt she?? You cant see her face but I imagine her to be very beautiful as well :)

The fact that you can't see her all of her face, and how that leaves the wonder of the beauty of how it looks up to the viewer's imagination, is another thing that makes this picture so captivating. :) When your own imagination can fill in the blanks it can sometimes create an even more vivid picture in the viewers mind. ;)
I do imagine her to be very beautiful as well :)

*fave'd* ... It conveys sheer ecstasy, and with all of these quite different elements echoing her feelings — water, tail, hair, "wings," grip, Moon, churning sea — the combined tableau almost conveys too much of it.

Almost. Her concentrated passion pulls it away from the devices and stock, and blends them together, not through subtlety, but from an overpowering sense of self-awareness. She is the mistress of her world.

Anyway ... everyone dreams of flying. {g} I'm quite fond of this dream, combining merfolk (a smaller artistic passion) and wings (whether literal or figurative, an overwhelming one).

Wow the way you worded this.. you are amazing with your words...I felt her passion and ecstasy, when I put this together..she is powerful..I wanted her to be powerful. I tried to depict this by the sheer force of the water being thrown back and creating her ultimate dream...wings with which to fly.

rocking idea! I have been trying to work out how to cut an polish Cabochons small enough to use as gems and stuff on 28mm scale sci-fi minis. It is kinda hard without dedicated grippy things to hold the tiny stone while polishing.

haha...its a long tiring and what I find a very boring process....I don't even attempt it lol..stone cutting is not bad..but soooooo long and messy and the equipment required is definitely something you would purchase only if that is your total passion (very costly). Diamond and gem cutting is even more tedious and costly..cheaper to buy the ready made lab grown gems..many AAAA quality Cubic Zirconiums (CZ's) only cost under a dollar for a 1mm pack of four (perfect for what you you need them for) Let me know if you really are interested I will send you a link to my supplier(they are in the USA) so would be even cheaper for u :)

oh I am really trying to cut some of the opal smalls we have laying about in the shed, mostly cause we are never going to use/sell them anyways (that is what the larger stuff is for).
although I may keep your offer in in mind.
We kinda have most of the cutting gear (diamond saws etc) but whenever i go out to the cutting room I end up doing stuff for buyers so yeah the little side project tends to get overlooked :O

oh I just realized you are in Australia...:stupidme: I thought you were in USA....what an idiot I am...sorry  Oh you mine opals...:wow: Are you in Cooper by any chance??? Well I feel like a dummy telling you what you need for stone cutting lol.....try waxing them to a wooden round (A piece off a wooden broom handle will do the trick)....that's what the guys do at the lapidary club..so much easier to handle...any really small bits you dont want..you can throw them my way :P :giggle:
